Maharashtra Stamp Duty Amnesty Scheme 2024
Maharashtra Cabinet on Wednesday launched Stamp Duty Amnesty Scheme 2024 intending to increase revenue. Under this scheme launched by the government, a provision has been made for exemption on stamp duty and penalty for registration of works executed from 1980 to 2020. This amnesty scheme will be implemented in two phases and the first phase will be from 1 December 2024 to 31 January 2024, after which the second phase will be from 1 February 2024 to 31 March 2024.
Maharashtra State Government is starting the Stamp Duty Waiver Scheme from December 1, 2023, under which there is a provision to waive up to 400 percent of the penalty on registered or unregistered documents. Cooperative housing societies will be helped in completing the process of deemed conveyance.

The Maharashtra Government has launched Maharashtra Stamp Duty Abhay Yojana 2024 to increase the revenue in the state, Which will be implemented in two phases. The Registration and Stamp Department in Mumbai has launched the Maharashtra Amnesty Scheme 2024 to resolve stamp duty-related disputes worth Rs.2,900 crore pending for three decades. The scheme will include a waiver of both the fine and stamp duty amount, which will help citizens will get benefits and also the state is expected to recover at least Rs.500 crore. To accelerate the recovery process, the proposed scheme will be launched in two phases of three months each.
