Employees who have worked in government service for 25 years will be now able to receive a guaranteed pension of 50 percent of their average basic salary in the last 12 months before retirement under this scheme. Employees who have served for less than 25 years will get a pension in proportion to the tenure, with the minimum qualifying service period being fixed at 10 years. In the event of the unfortunate death of the employee, his spouse will get a family pension of 60% of the pension received by the employee before his death.
